ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The requirement for wastewater discharge was based on the knowledge of its negative impact on human health as well as the negative development of the society. This article describes the historical development of waste water treatment from the global perspective, and it is also focused on the development of this sector in the Czech lands. This article also describes the development of urban centres in Northern Moravia and in Silesia and the associated requirement for the discharge and sanitation of waste water. This article describes the development of sanitation technologies in the cities of Ostrava, Frýdek-Místek, Opava, Třinec and other cities, and it provides information on the current state of waste water treatment in these cities.
