ABSTRACT

The ultimate goal of social entrepreneurial activities is to develop a positive social impact on society. As a result, measuring and reporting to what extent social impact has been created through a social entrepreneurial activity and reporting it to stakeholders is becoming increasingly important. One of the fundamental differences between social entrepreneurship and traditional entrepreneurship is that social entrepreneurs primarily pursue a social mission instead of profit-maximization goals. This chapter provides a case of the social enterprise euforia. The organization implemented its own social impact measurement system with the help of two researchers during a three-year project. The case illustrates advantages and drawbacks of different designs for internal and external use. The process of developing euforia's social impact measurement system started with structuring the potential impacts that euforia could have. The pyramid dimension empowerment describes that euforia aims at creating the belief in people that they can positively change society.
