The object of these conferences is to promote a feeling of sympathy and co-operation among the members, and to give them opportunities of comparing their experiences on various important points. '1'he special subjects for discussion this year were the course of study in Girls' High Schools; the difficulties connected with the arrangement of home work for pupils in higher forms; the arrangement of a cllrriculum so as to secure width and thoroughIiess without overwork; the Right Hon. W. E. Forster's scheme of inspection; suggestions for examination of teachers by the Universities; and some questions of health.
