ABSTRACT
The Suffrage Journal records the death of Miss Emily A. Bailel' which occured at her residence, 97, Varna Road, BIrmingham, on January 3rd. She was an energetic member of the Womeas' Suffrage Society, and and the Womens' Liberal Association of Birmingham. She was also Secretary to the Birmingham Committee for promotin~ the Med~cal Education of W?men, an.d took an active part· ill many of the phIlanthropIC works of the town, notably the Training Institute for Nurses, and Hospital for Diseases of Women, the District Nursing Association, &c. She worked in every direction to remove all legal restriction on the labour of women, and her loss will be widely felt, especially by those with whom she has for many years been engaged in earnest endeavours to promote the public good.
