ABSTRACT
LIBRARIEs.-In the annual report of the Dundee Free Library, while 6,302 men are recorded to have taken out books during the past year, only 710 women have done so. 'Ve should be curious to learn the reason of this disparity of numbers; whether it is due to the inferior €ducation of women which makes them less fond of yeading; or whether, as we suspect, the calls of homework fill up their hours of leisure-giving them less time than men for relaxation.
