Wire', equity wife has also what is termed her equity to a to.6ettlement. settlement that is to say, where dUl1ng the marriage the wife becomes entitled to any equitable property· not settled to her separate use, sbe is (unless already enjoying a competent settlement) entitled to have a portion of such property settled on herself. But this right has b<.!come of much less importance since the passing of the Married 'Vomen's Property Act, 1870, which in many instances gives to the wife for her separate use property accruing to her during marriage, as will be seen later.
