ABSTRACT

Photography is a powerful form of art. A single image, absorbed by the viewer in seconds, can leave an indelible mark. The photographer Anne Marie Rijsman-Lecluyse provided the opportunity. Anne Marie was a creative photographer, sometimes adding touches of color to black and white photographs or bringing to life the beauty of otherwise barren landscapes. Gergen Mary approached her about the possibility of working with the author in conjoining theory and photography. She was curious, and with this a richly rewarding relationship was born. They represent momentary inspirations, followed by conversations with Anne Marie on the potentials, then moving to ongoing exchanges in which people mutually shaped a visual idea. Her aesthetic sensibility and fine craftwork accounted for the rest. Most of these collaborations extended the relational theme threading. Human intelligibility rests on the momentary "flowing together" of all. Anne Marie served up just the right illustration for the concept.
