Performance is nothing more than an opportunity to look, unencumbered. By paying close attention to each other, we learn what it means to be human and what it means to exist. Without looking and being looked at, we lose a sense of ourselves (Woodruff, 2008). The marked space of performance is designed for the eye. Stare all you want. It’s yours for the taking.
