ABSTRACT
The National Zoo has been changing, and some of the changes have gotten very good press, as they deserve. Reconstructed areas are not only aesthetically pleasing, they seem to be humane and com fortable for the animals. But that’s a very bland way to summarize what’s happening at the Zoo. The big changes we’ve read about have been accompanied by little ones; some seem planned, some serendipitous.
