ABSTRACT

Scientists from outside the United States have long commented that respect for the rights of Indigenous people to believe in their spiritual and material cultural identity has been lacking in the Kennewick Man case. We find that the scientists involved seem to be against the rights of five Native American communities. Just as Indigenous people were forgotten and marginalized in the past, the rights that every nation and people enjoy in order to believe freely in their own religion, culture, costumes, or traditions are being marginalized today. 1
