ABSTRACT
I am honored to have been asked for my views about Kennewick Man. A graduate student in archaeology, my direct experience with Kennewick Man is far less than that of many of the other contributors to this volume; nevertheless he has played an important part in my life. I hope that the following personal account and comparison of the Kennewick Man controversy with a similar incident that happened in my grandfather's homeland will benefit this work.
