ABSTRACT

Motoring related heritage tourism involves a broad range of activities, including visiting motor themed museums, attending historic car rallies, racing as well as exhibiting collectable cars in public parades and meets. On the Caribbean Island of Barbados, motoring heritage is closely related to the history and culture of the independent former British colony. This chapter will identify the motoring heritage of Barbados and profile the role of such heritage in the tourism product, highlighting opportunities for developing related niche motoring products such as historic racing.
