UK Policy towards South Africa

1. The failure of the Commonwealth Eminent Persons Group Mission raises important questions for the handling of our policy towards South Africa. The Group’s Report is highly critical of the South African Government and calls for concerted, effective action by the Commonwealth. Their clear implication is that such action should include economic measures.
