ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the competing narratives and performances of Sofia Hultin's tour and other guided walks as the basis for a discussion of heritage in the intersection of gender, sexuality and class in the urban landscape of Norrkoping. It explores the fantasy of maternity has echoes in Hultin's walk as well as in the last walk. The chapter deals with more encompassing projects to render female experiences visible so as to connect to agendas and include them in the heritage for the future. It analyses two of the walks are even named after women, Johanna and Moa respectively. Women's hardships in times recur in the so-called Johanna walk, which is organized by the local tourist office, Destination Norrkoping. In the Moa walk, the fantasy of feminist maternity once again interacts with one of the female orators. The 'I'm every lesbian' walk suggests an alternative story for collective identification by inserting lesbian experiences in the Industrial Landscape.
