ABSTRACT

In the business world, executives often spend year after year mentally and intellectually locked into a narrow structure of daily chores. Scanning the ontological structures of the architectures of consciousness-based systems, one can identify the presence of the following four capabilities as the critical building blocks: connectivity, information structures, efficient algorithms, and processing. Multiple input streams of conscious contents are propagated and broadcasted in different areas of the brain and a winner-takes-all equilibrium establishes who wins in the battle of consciousness. Developments from the quantum physics are shedding new light on consciousness. The field of Artificial Intelligence research was born during the 1950s. The technology made several unsuccessful attempts to become mainstream and break the commercialization barrier. One of the happy accidents of our times is the simultaneous development of four capabilities that supported the revival of artificial intelligence. They are connectivity and network capabilities, processing and analytical capabilities, data management, and mathematical algorithms.
