ABSTRACT
The administration of a medicine is a common but important clinical procedure and an important aspect of professional practice. The Nursing and Midwifery Council recognizes that it is not a mechanical task to be performed in strict compliance with the instructions of the prescriber but requires thought and the exercise of professional judgement.
