ABSTRACT

China as the world's most populous country is an important part of global higher education. China's higher education system has its own uniqueness because of its particular historical context. Enhancing the quality of education has been a common goal for countries all over the world. However, establishing basic education development does not necessarily increase education fairness as people increasingly demand high-quality education. In April 2016, Chinese Ministry of Education launched China's Higher Education Quality Report which shows that the development of China's higher education basically keeps pace with that of the national economy. Through internationalization students can learn compulsory academic knowledge though access to teachers and students has a larger platform to demonstrate their educational achievements. In 1984, China started the semi-commodity economy system and 1985 was a special landmark year in the history of China's higher education policy. Since China adopted the Socialist Market Economic System in 1992, China has abolished the highly centralized economic system.
