Desalination in Spain: A Growing Alternative for Water Supply
The relative scarcity of water in several regions of the world has meant that some countries
have opted to exploit non-conventional resources in the last few decades. These resources
include sewage disposal, reutilization and desalination. It becomes especially attractive in
water deﬁcit situations, as it permits obtaining sufﬁcient water quality to satisfy urban,
industrial or agricultural demands from an abundant resource.
