Broken Silence: Researching with Women to Find a Voice

My personal journey into this research illuminates the reality of local systems that still exist to repress the voices and experiences of women. As part of my vocational journey, I was asked to demonstrate my ability to manage motherhood, ministry and marriage to another clergy person. My capacity to juggle these areas would be ascertained before I would be ordained priest. As a woman leader within the Church, this precipitated a binding effect on my experience and freedom to speak about it. Much of my life, it seemed, needed literally to stay at home.
