ABSTRACT

We hope that this overview of the economic, social, political and external implications of the Eurozone crisis for the transformation of European Union (EU) governance is relevant and inspiring to understand and assess what is still unfolding. New theoretical approaches and new concepts were suggested to cope with this extraordinary and complex process with its high level of uncertainty. This uncertainty is not only about the level of accomplishment to be achieved, but also about the overall direction of this process. That is why we propose to the reader a final element for consideration, which was also provided to the authors as background for inspiration.
