ABSTRACT

A number of government agencies in China help set accounting laws and regulations. These agencies include the National People’s Congress, the State Council, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). The China Accounting Standards (CAS) is a formal legal regulation and a mandatory standard set, which has been highly convergent with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). In this chapter, we will discuss the development of CAS, current situation of CAS, the Basic Standard and main differences between current CAS and IFRS and the future of CAS.
