ABSTRACT

By now I know that you believe economics has a lot to do with ethics, in all kinds of ways, not the least of which are the distributional aspects of economics. But economists also are frequently asked to explain current economic situations, such as what we might think of as the economic meltdown of 2008, to take just a recent illustration. How would you explain what happened so that someone who is educated and concerned, but not a professional economist, can understand it? I say that because I need someone to explain it to me!
