ABSTRACT

This chapter reflects on the relationship between writing, thinking and performance in the digital sphere, focusing on the experience and poetics of live writing. The chapter presents two parallel processes: extracts from Quizoola LIVE!, a digital, multi-authored live critical writing project unfolding in parallel with Forced Entertainment’s performance of the same title. taking place over twenty-four hours starting at 11:45 p.m. on 21 November 2014, and fragmented explorations of criticism’s articulation in the digital sphere. The parallel poetics between performance and criticism that unfold provide an opportunity to consider the meaning-making processes that occur between our encounter with the work and the material resulting from it.
