ABSTRACT

The advance of modern technology and means of communication, which present a new virtual world with novel and complex legal relationships, is a prime example. Advances in technology mean that a huge amount of information is available on any topic. It also greatly shortens the distance between different legal systems and legal cultures. As legal education has become increasingly globalized and competitive, more and more legal education institutions are adopting an outward looking attitude. The legal profession increasingly expects law graduates to be competent, not just in general skills and knowledge, but also in specialized areas like securities, listing and other commercial practices. Global legal practice may also require students to be familiar with international law and different cultures and legal systems. The aim of liberal education is to develop intellectual curiosity and a critical analytical mind through the legal context, and to appreciate law and legal values in a wider community through broad-based knowledge and education.
