ABSTRACT

As a physical collection of essays Bodies of Sound has a finite ending. The persistent impermanence of ‘the popular’, however, prevents any claims we could make here to offer a final word or bring closure. This epilogue provides instead an opportunity to reflect upon the transnational and transdiciplinary nature of this volume and its collective accumulation of ideas and revelations. In offering a frame of sorts to balance the introduction, we want to draw particular attention to how the collection stands as a whole and what emerges from this volume, itself a body of work.
