ABSTRACT
This book is a product of design education research undertaken by members of the Design Research Society’s Special Interest Group in Design Pedagogy. This group began in the UK but has established itself as an international group, chiefly through its biennial conference in design education research (DRS/Cumulus in Paris in 2011, and Oslo in 2013, with the next planned for Chicago in 2015). Other research societies have similar strands of research in design education. The Design Society has an annual international conference in Engineering and Product Design Education, and the International Association of Societies of Design Research includes a strand dedicated to design pedagogy research.
