DHL Taiwan: Aligning the Express Business with Customers
Supply chains have a significant impact on these factors: hence, managing them in a sustainable way has become a key management concern. Sustainable supply chain transformation describes an instance of radical change to the way in which a network currently operates, based on the principles of sustainability. Building sustainable supply chains requires new thinking which involves embracing a holistic, integrated and dynamic way of doing business. To implement a sustainability strategy, supply chain managers need to consider a hierarchy of four distinct approaches, namely, risk mitigation, cost minimization, value advantage and sustainable supply chain transformation. Sustainable development has been defined in a number of ways, but probably the most recognized reference can be taken from the Bruntland Commission which defined it as development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
