This chapter highlights the growing importance of executive coaching, and demonstrates a strategy for establishing the development needs of the organisation and individuals within it. Strategic goals need to include the development of management skills necessary to achieve the desired organisational results. Quality assurance aims to ensure that the products or services an organisation provides are fit for purpose. The coaching needs analysis comes in five stages: organisational support, organisational analysis, requirements analysis, person analysis and competencies analysis. Executive coaching is now seen in many organisations, both private and public, as an essential professional development intervention. Organisational analysis is concerned with systems-wide components of the organisation, including its goals, resources and any internal or external constraints present in the environment. The advantage of the coach profile database is that it allows for the coaches to view the biographical details of all the coaches.
