Public Art in Schools in Oslo – An Expression of Democracy and a Neglected Resource
In all schools in Oslo, there is public art. Seven thousand of the city’s 18,000 public artworks are located in the city’s schools. All schoolchildren in Oslo are therefore exposed to art to a greater or lesser degree during their school day. While many of these works are monumental, such as murals and mosaics, most are canvas paintings, graphical works and sculptures.
