ABSTRACT

This chapter highlights the need for a meaningful review of the team's accomplishments in terms of how they have developed and performed together as a unit. Team evaluation should promote an insightful analysis of the team's actions, which will allow improvements to be made for any subsequent virtual projects. The tool selected will depend on the team's size, geographical spread and cultures. It is up to the team to discuss and select which tool would be most beneficial to them. When selecting an evaluation tool, always bear in mind whether the kind of results it will produce will be of direct value to the team, who will then be expected to act on the outcomes. Any actions should be accompanied by a measure that will indicate whether or not the changes the team makes are having any effect, and if the effect is in the desired direction.
