ABSTRACT

Dr Margaret Harrison is a nurse, a professor emeritus at Queen’s University, a researcher, and principal investigator with the Queen’s Joanna Briggs Collaboration (QJBC). The QJBC is a patient safety initiative with a dual focus: 1) to generate knowledge for use in practice through syntheses and systematic reviews of best available patient safety evidence; and 2) to develop knowledge products which can be applied within the knowledge to action framework (Harrison et al., 2012). The knowledge to action framework underpins this collaboration to facilitate knowledge generation, knowledge uptake, and improvement within the quality of care patients receive (Graham et al., 2006).
