ABSTRACT
In the succeeding parts of the book (second, third and fourth), I will try to explore the evolutionary dynamics of the Ottoman-Turkish political economy by using the analytic tools of institutional system analysis. Before doing so, this particular chapter examines neoliberal, social democratic and Islamic institutionalism.
