ABSTRACT

As Integral Development moves through the 'Eastern' realm from the formative individual to the reformative group and organisational level, this chapter explores the following questions in order to help us engage with and further release our own co-evolutionary potential. These are the questions that need to be asked: How do groups and organisations evolve and develop; what creative sources within and around us can provide momentum for organisational development; and what gives us meaning, what regenerates us. It also questions what wisdom sources we can tap into, alone and with others; and what role does culture play in organisational development; how does an organisation co-evolve and co-arise with others, thereby contributing to the co-evolution of organisations and society at large. This chapter explores on the organisational level by learning from the American physicist David Bohm about the power of dialogue to create shared meaning. It considers the nature and scope of the human group, before turning to organisation at large.
