ABSTRACT

We now turn from original Calling, and foundational Context, to emancipatory Co-Creation and Innovation, along the path of renewal. Revisiting science and society, as such, in place of the relationally based Mode 2 University (see Chapter 8), we now have, or had (in the 1940s and 1950s), Germany’s Frankfurt School, the birthplace of so-called critical theory. Because of the radical conceptual nature of this intellectual emancipatory turn, the corresponding approaches to enterprise and economics, even if nominally recognized, tend, as we shall see, to be ultimately marginalized.
