ABSTRACT

Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) is a non-governmental organisation that was created in 1966 under the patronage of King Hussein. It is devoted to the protection of nature through the instruments of sustainable development. During the initial two meetings with the co-operative inquiry team at RSCN, and after they had attended two workshops on the subject given by Dr. Assaf, discussed the concepts of Islamic Theory. Nevertheless, in a society like RSCN that deals with different sectors of society, from locals to NGOs and decision-makers, RSCN has to take some actions and decisions according to the Japanese model or the Western model, according to the specificity of the decision'. Co-operative inquiry at RSCN has affinities with the action research approach and the associated experiential learning arising from the work of Kurt Lewin, whereby: In action research, all actors involved in the research process are equal participants, and must be involved in every stage of the research process.
