ABSTRACT
This chapter is based on the results of research aimed at revealing the regulations which control landscape uses in two different countries, France and Switzerland, on the basis of the analysis of four case studies. Firstly, this approach required the identification of different landscape uses and their different stakeholders, then the analysis of both private rights and public laws and actions which regulate these uses, and finally the comparative analysis of their effectiveness.
