ABSTRACT

This chapter is written from a purely practical perspective, by someone who became involved in the compilation of legal dictionaries without any theoretical training or background in lexicography. Much of what is said here will therefore appear naive to those with professional lexicographical knowledge and experience; but it is to be hoped that it will be naivety of the useful kind, where the neophyte’s comments are at least refreshing and thought-provoking for those more steeped in the subject.
