ABSTRACT
The river curves into a gigantic bend. The banks have become overgrown with forest; the panorama is boundless. The sun has hidden inside the clouds, but everything is permeated with a harsh light that casts no shadow. Greenish, translucent water races headlong through the broad channel, and down deep, shadows flash from time to time over the rocks – huge glimmering fish. I am at peace and filled with trust.
