ABSTRACT

Herbert W. Armstrong was the founder and apostle of the Worldwide Church of God (WCG), a millenarian, Sabbatarian, British-Israelite sect with heterodox theology. In the decade following his death in 1986 his chosen successor Joseph W. Tkach changed many of the Church’s doctrines. In December 1995 Tkach announced that the WCG now had effectively the same beliefs as most Evangelical Churches.
