ABSTRACT

Moscow has learned well that any serious aggravation of the situation, the more armed confl icts on the Korean peninsula could jeopardize Russia’s security, compelling her to undertake additional measures to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities in the region. Several times Russia had to use her armed forces in Korea to protect her interests against non-continental adversaries as happened in 1904-1905, 1945 and, fi nally, though on a very limited scale, in 1950-1953.
