ABSTRACT

This chapter reflects more generally upon the small-scale and fine-grained findings of the research presented in the book from three perspectives. First, by referring back to the conceptual model developed in Chapter 2, we summarize the results of the investigations on inner-city residential change presented in the case studies. Secondly, we consider how the research has contributed to a better understanding of the current and likely future development of East Central European cities, together with their related challenges for further research. Finally, lessons learnt for future research on residential and wider urban changes in East Central Europe are discussed.
