Over the past decades many regional organizations have been established. Since the 1990s, this development has even accelerated. Despite various differences in their institutional designs, major regional organizations have one thing in common: all of them have established some kind of dispute settlement procedure (DSP). These procedures often focus on economic aspects of regional integration, such as issues related to trade and investment.
