Websites and Information Technology
This chapter will examine the major issues and questions that managers face concerning websites and information technology (IT). In addition, there will be a section on financial evaluation of IT investments. There is very little debate that the use of technology in the workplace (including the whole spectrum of operating systems, computers, application programs, networks, and the Internet) has fundamentally reshaped all aspects of business. That transformation continues unabated making this subject an area of “where the action is” in contemporary businesses. As such, there is no wonder why IT issues are present at all levels of the organization, in all stages of planning and between and among functional units.
