ABSTRACT
In the face of an aging and declining population, Japan is being forced to change its socio-economic structure from one based on growth to a more sustainable model. Globalization is also having a great impact on the whole of Japanese society, including on people’s daily lives. Devolution and coordination among the private, government and ‘public’ sectors are essential in reorganizing society in Japan.
