Introduction

This book is an offspring of the International Colloquium on Interpreter Education held on September 9, 2015, at Kansai University, Osaka, Japan. The purpose of the colloquium was to bring together scholars, teachers, and practitioners working within the fi eld of interpreting to exchange their views on interpreting education in general and the theory and pedagogy of consecutive notes and notetaking in particular.
