Labeling community and language

This chapter reports on the researchers’ experiences with the Niue/Niuean community and the various axes of differentiation evident in ethnic labeling. We discuss how voices from within and outside the local community affect labeling and how the use of labels for both community and language position the researcher in one space rather than another.
