XIV (Sept. 1823), 282–93. The author was John Gibson Lockhart, a writer, lawyer, later editor of the Quarterly Review: see Alan L. Strout, A Bibliography of Articles in Blackwood’s Magazine 1817–1825 (Lubbock, Texas, 1959), p. 111. This review is in the form of a letter from Morgan ODoherty to Christopher North (usually John Wilson), both of them fictitious characters used by the magazine. Lockhart was also the author of the vicious attack on Keats in Blackwood’s.
