ABSTRACT
BUT among the many Enemies of Masonry, there hath lately started up a most formidable One, (and by some Reckon’d Infallible) I mean the Pope;4 who, as he tells us, judging that Fraternity highly to deserve Ecclesiastical Censures, hath issu’d out his Bull of Excommunication, which strictly forbids any Catholick, to enter into, Countenance, or Defend Them: His Holiness begins in the following Formal and Solemn Manner.
