ABSTRACT

When I fi rst learned about the solution-focused (SF) approach, I felt it was such a natural and simple wisdom to stimulate positive human interaction. Somehow, I felt like I had always known it. Later, I met many people who shared the same view. I sensed a high possibility of people in organisations utilising SF principles in everyday interactions. As a human communication trainer, I started to dream of enabling organisations to become solution-focused, where all members would share the knowledge and skills of SF communication, and where everything could be managed in solution-focused ways. I named it an ‘SF inside’ organisation to sound like a computer, in which SF communication is installed as the operating system. My hope was that this kind of organisation would have fewer mental health problems and better productivity as a result of the SF communication installed in everyday interactions.
