ABSTRACT

Heather Albanesi is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. She received her Ph.D. in sociology from the University of California at Berkeley, and she completed her undergraduate studies at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. Her research interests include heterosexuality, gender, disability, privilege, parenting, and education. She is the author of Gender and Sexual Agency: How Young People Make Choices about Sex (2010, Lexington Books), and her current research look at the intersections of disability, veteran status, and transitions to higher education.
